PsEyeDream #1 – The Blooming Gaze (Stretched Satin Canvas)

“I found myself drifting in a lucid dream, weightless, until an eye opened before me – not one of flesh, but of emotion and thought. It didn’t watch me. It invited me in.”

They say the first dream always leaves a mark. PsEyeDream #1 was born in that precise moment — a soft opening between sleep and waking, where the rules of form and physics gently unravel. The eye appeared not as a body part, but as a consciousness. A blooming thought, unfolding behind the veil of reality.

Its iris shimmered with hues impossible to name in the waking world — orange becoming gold, gold flowing into emerald, turquoise, sapphire, and then evaporating into lavender mist. At its centre, a deep brown pupil held secrets from before language, a stillness older than time, as if it had waited just for you to notice.

Orbiting the eye were surreal fragments of the dreamscape — floating orbs like lost thoughts, soft petals like whispers never spoken, and tiny stars that blinked in and out like forgotten ideas. They hovered in an impossible choreography, drawn by silent music only the subconscious can hear.

Its lashes were strokes of intuition, drawn not to resemble reality but to express it. The eyelid, painted in soft peach and dusty rose, cradled the vision with the tenderness of dusk. And behind it all, the canvas breathed a warm, quiet grey — the kind of space you can fall into without ever hitting the ground.

Some see it as an invitation to return to self. Others see it as a protector — a quiet guardian that observes from the liminal. Whatever it becomes to you, one thing is certain: this is not just a painting. It’s a portal. A memory. A message from the dreamworld that decided to stay behind and take form.

Artist’s Note. This piece came to life during a late-night session when I was experimenting without aim – just letting the lines form and colours guide me. I didn’t know what I was creating until I stepped back and saw the eye. It felt like a dream had drawn itself. The details, the floating elements, the palette – they all just appeared intuitively, like visual echoes from a place I didn’t remember visiting. It’s not meant to make sense. It’s meant to stir something. I call it a surreal snapshot from somewhere in the mind that doesn’t speak in words. Hope you feel it too.
