Looks like an eye at first glance, sure. But if you pause for even a second, it starts to feel like more than that. There's a softness to it. Like it's not entirely here, like it's sending a signal from somewhere else. The spiral of colours is what pulls you in first. Not just blues and pinks, but those strange, in-between tones that don't even have names. They're layered like waves, forming two rings that orbit and swirl like thoughts trying to land.
The lashes aren't just lashes. They feel like little antennas, reaching outward, picking up invisible messages. Then there are the floating shapes. Triangles, diamonds, maybe even tiny ideas dancing around the eye like they're waiting to be understood.
Artist's Note
I technically painted an eye, but what came out feels more like a signal. A signal from somewhere soft. Somewhere not entirely here. It began with a spiral of colour. Blues, pinks, oranges, and those in-between hues that aren't quite nameable. The result built itself into two gradient rings, orbiting each other like thoughts in motion. Always moving, yet perfectly centred.
The lashes? More than decoration. They're antennas, reaching outward, sensing, receiving. They define not just the eye's boundary but also its quiet dignity. Floating above are playful shapes. Triangles, diamonds, little geometric thoughts, dancing on invisible strings like ideas before they're understood.
At a glance it's just beauty. But look longer and it might say something else. Something about perception. About the way colour stirs feeling. Sophie, who lives in the imagined house where this eye exists, fills her home with these tones. Not because she has to, but because they remind her to feel.
There's a suggestion here, if you're open to it. That vision isn't only for seeing. It's for connecting. For feeling more deeply. For asking yourself things that maybe don't have answers. And even if they don't, that's okay.
