This eye doesn't stare -it glows.

Marble Bloom captures a moment where clarity meets colour, where the stillness of an eye holds the soft chaos of a dream. The iris bursts outward in a full-spectrum rainbow, each hue locked in a perfect ring, like ripples of thought radiating from a single idea. And that single idea? Wonder.

The gaze is bold but strangely serene. Surrounded by thick, graphic lashes and framed in striking contrast, the eye floats gently on a bed of pastel marbling, soft pinks, creamy peach, dreamy blue. It almost feels like you're seeing through someone’s imagination as it melts into paint and thought. The background doesn’t just sit still; it moves, as if stirred by slow, invisible waves. Like time paused to take a breath.

Artist’s Note
I honestly didn’t overthink this one. The eye came out fast and confident, but it was the background that I spent ages playing with. I wanted it to feel like watercolour, but digital and somehow alive. Like it’s breathing behind the eye.

The lashes were a bold choice. They don’t shy away or blend in, they announce the shape. That contrast with the delicate pastel marbling is what makes it pop. I was thinking about those old paper marbling techniques, but also about makeup, warmth, and softness. That’s probably why it ended up feeling kind of dreamy and familiar.

This piece is about peaceful curiosity. It’s for anyone who still finds colour exciting.
